now, when i found out about the lovecraft collections, i was, to say the least, astonished. Being a fan of lovecraft work, to discover the entire lovecraftian film scene was like coming into another dimension; this massive circle of film makers putting their souls interest into adaptions of some of the greatest lovecraft stories, no matter the cost. To say the least, i am still fascinated.
The first volume of the Lovecraft Collection is an exquisite collection of attempts worthy of any true film passionate, and lovecraft passionate. The Comedy (what there is) is helarious, and i found the S.T. Joshy interview in particular to be pretty funny as well. But the collections real prize (though the hapless antiquarian was great and nyarlathotep was quite an enjoyment) is Bryan Moors moving adaption of "Cool Air". This film is a prize, indeed, and i found myself watching it over and over again, every time feeling closer to the characters than before. Its 46 minutes are full of all that need be in a film of this calibur, and to top it off, its of amazing quality for how small of budget they had to work with. i wish i had seen it when it first showed at teh LLFF, and look forward to the coming Bryan Moor adaptions.
Well, im splashing away, but to return eventually for a hard piping review of the LC vol. 3, Out of Mind (dont ask why i didnt buy Vol. 2)
Cheers,
Woodruff
